What defines us

The 6 Principles and Values of ICATC

All members read, share and sign these principles when joining the association

First principle

We accept each person as they are, without judgement

Full commitment and respect for the person and their ethical, religious and moral convictions. We include aspects of faith only if the client requests it.
No We are not an association that only serves Catholic clients. We offer our service to everyone without imposing values or judging anyone.
Second principle

Balance between wellbeing and vital responsibilities

We seek the wellbeing and fulfilment of the person, always taking into account their environment: family, work and friendships.
No We do not encourage egocentric positions that distance the person from their environment and the reality around them.
Third principle

We commit to being professional, authentic and honest

We clearly explain to the client what we can and cannot offer. We seek to be authentic in every process.
No It is not acceptable to manipulate or take advantage of our neighbour.
Fourth principle

We practise Catholic values

We promote values such as optimism, patience, charity and joy in an authentic way. We face suffering with hope and solidarity.
No We do not adopt positions of false positivity or others that forget the real person.
Fifth principle

Confidentiality in our sessions

We guarantee the confidentiality of our clients' information in accordance with the regulations of each profession and country.
No We do not share information without the client's authorisation and only for a specific purpose.
Sixth principle

We integrate the Christian faith if the client wishes

We can optionally include the spiritual dimension: spirituality, faith, Christian perspective on the problem.
No No beliefs are imposed. If the person needs it, we can refer them to spiritual or religious accompaniment.
